Just Another Day..

Once upon a time, in a world where women constantly face challenges and injustices, there lived a woman named Sarah. Sarah was no stranger to the struggles and biases that came with being a woman, but she refused to let those define her.

One sunny morning, Sarah found herself at the local government office to renew her identification card. Initially, she had been hesitant due to the tedious process and the long queues. However, driven by her love for her country and her desire to be an active citizen, she mustered up her energy and marched into the office with a bright smile and positive vibes, as she always did.

As she approached the counter, a policeman assigned to the task began asking her the routine questions. Sarah answered with poise and confidence, even when asked about her studies. She proudly mentioned her passion for English studies and her involvement as a social activist. She even shared her upcoming trip to Madrid for a seminar, brimming with excitement.

But then, the conversation took an unexpected turn. The policeman, seemingly out of nowhere, made a comment assuming she was single. Sarah corrected him, informing him that she was divorced. Curiosity piqued, she joked about whether her marital status would be included on her ID card.

Suddenly, another policeman, who had been listening in, interjected with a judgmental tone. He questioned Sarah’s pride in her divorced status, insinuating that she should feel ashamed. His voice grew louder, as he attempted to mansplain and lecture her on how she should behave.

Feeling the weight of the unjust accusations and the gaslighting, Sarah couldn’t remain silent. She interrupted him, frustration seeping into her voice, asking if he genuinely wanted her perspective or if he simply desired a reason to attack her. With unwavering strength, she defended herself and declared that she was a social activist, fighting for women’s rights.

The second policeman, taken aback by her boldness, struggled to believe her words. Sarah stood there, knowing that her experience was yet another testament to the difficulties faced by women every day. The encounter reminded her of the constant need to prove herself and challenge the stereotypes imposed upon her.

As she left the government office, Sarah couldn’t help but reflect on the encounter. She knew that being a woman was not always easy, and the biases and prejudices she encountered were disheartening. However, she also recognized that she possessed the strength to stand up for herself and others, to defy societal expectations, and to pave the way for change.

With each passing day, Sarah continued to embrace her identity as a woman, refusing to let anyone diminish her worth. She remained determined to break the barriers and create a world where women could thrive without prejudice or judgment. And so, she carried on, knowing that despite the challenges, she was making a difference, one courageous step at a time.
